Back

First you neeed your own 3D Sound.
This Sound can be found at the Internet. The Best sites I know are Freesound.org & Findsounds.com.

Did You find your sound?
Good. Now it is time to insert your sound in revolt. And the only way to use custom sounds in revolt is to use Phoenix R3.

But first we need Phoenix R3 to recognize the sound. Go to the revolt folder -> then the "Wavs" folder -> and then make a new folder called "MyTrack*".
*= is the name of the track the sound has to be inserted to.

Put your sound into the folder and call it a number between 0-10. Lets say you choosed the name: "0.wav"

Now open Phoenix R3 and use the MAKEITGOOD Code to enter Objects Edit Mode. Choose your track at the track screen and then let revolt load the track.
Press F4, then Insert and then use the Keyboard arrows to find the object named 3D Sound.

Press the Down Arrow to change the sound. When you've found the sound called "SFX 0" then press the down arrow again.
Now you have to choose the range of the sound, which means how long away you should be able to hear the sound. In this example we are gonna use "30". When inserted the sound
then press CTRL+F4 to save.

Now Change the Edit Mode to None and then take a race or 2 to see if you can hear the sound. If not you can do 2 things:

1. Put more range on the 3D sound.

2. Volume up the sound in Audacity.

When this is done, we need to open up Audacity, because we need to make sure that the sound has the right frequency. All sounds must be mono, because stereo is not needed.
Open up Audacity and open your sound. Now the screen should look like this:

Look at the right of the wav (the blue thing) and check if it is stereo or mono, and what frequency it has.

If the the frequency is higher and/or the sound is stereo, then do as follows:

1. Press the button and you will see this come up:

If your Sound is Stereo then press "Mono" (RED SQUARE)

If your sound has high frequency press "Choose Rate*" and then choose the rate "22050 Hz".
(*= Choose rate is the one with Green Around)

Now you need to export the sound as WAV. Go to "File" and then choose "Export as WAV". (RED SQUARE)

Now that this is done, you have to compress it with Miles Sound Studio.
Open Miles Sound Studio and find your sound. Then press "Compress" and press "Yes" to the box that pops up.

Now Enter the new name of the .wav file and save it into your "wavs\trackname\" Folder.

THE END

Hope this helped you!
